what on earth happened to the Veet picture? Was I drunk when I took that? Oh, possibly so.
Veet Easy Wax- This has single-handedly changed the way that I look at hair removal.
It's a wonder product that every girl has to try at some point.
Basically, you slot the wax insert into the top of the hand-held applicator, let it heat up to the right temperature (which it does automatically) and then just roll it along the skin that needs waxing.
Firstly, I think it's fantastic that it heats up to the recommended temperature and then stops heating and just keeps it at the right temperature- this is perfect for me, as I always tend to burn myself on at-home waxing kits.. Although I'm slightly dim and lack in basic common sense. One complaint that I will voice is that Veet say that the wax will heat in 20 minutes, however each time I've used it, the wax has taken AT LEAST an hour to properly heat. And if you don't allow it to heat up properly, it tugs at the skin.. ouch!
The wax (when heated) glides along the skin like silk, it's amazing. It feels warm, not scorching hot, which was the main reason that I stopped going to salons to get it done as I found the application of the wax more painful that the actual pulling out of the hairs.. That, and the way that they tweeze the remaining hairs out at the end.. I almost cried.
A lot of reviews that I've read claim that there is something in the wax that makes it hurt less when yanking the hairs out, and before I got the kit, I did NOT believe it, but the first time that I used the kit I completely understood what they meant; there is barely any pain. Now, I'm the biggest wimp that anyone could ever imagine, so if I can tolerate it, then any one can.
With the kit, you get one wax insert, strips and 5 finishing wipes, and I have used this kit 3 times, doing both legs each time and I have JUST ran out of the wax and the strips..
I have a friend who buys her strips off eBay for something ridiculous like £2 for a massive bag full. That's what I'll be doing from now on.
The refill wax inserts are £10 each, but keep looking around, especially in Superdrug and Wilkos because they often pop them on offer, which is great.
I mean, considering that I used to pay £15 for both lower legs to be waxed in a salon, and then the parking fee too, we were looking at almost £20, so the fact that one refill lasts 3 leg waxes is fantastic value for money.
The actual machine itself retails for £29.99 in most places, although it's actually on offer in Boots at the moment, here. To me, it's more than worth the money, it's my favourite way of removing my leg-hair by far.
They also do a sensitive wax, which just slots into the machine just like the regular one, which is basically a more sensitive formula with a thinner head.. So when you're doing places such as the underarms and bikini line, you'll have more control of where it's going..
Personally, the thought of waxing my bikini line makes my eyes water and my heart pound. There is no way on earth that it can be bearable?!
I have tried this on my underarms a couple of times.. The first time, I actually cried. Yep that's right. Actual tears. And it bled! I then swore that I'd never do it again, but after a couple of glasses of wine, I was waxing my legs (bad idea, I woke up with all fluff stuck to the bits of wax that I'd missed) and got slightly brave and waxed my pits(ew, hate that word). It was slightly successful, but took an absolute age and my underarm hairs are very thick and stubborn, so I think I'll be sticking to the pain-free, quick and easy razor.
Has anyone else tried this fabulous product?
It gets 5 stars from me!
